Violin 4/4 “old Mirecourt” signed Mansuy on the back Mansuy
Not to be confused with the violins signed Mansuy made later up to the beginning of the XXth century following the repurchases of the mark with each generation of luthiers.
You may compare this violin with the beautiful Nicolas Ainé of origin.
The back is in two parts of maple and presents two pins at the location of the cleats of the top and the bottom.
The back presents the brand MANSUY.
The spruce top has an old repair on the left side at the bottom left repaired with cleats.
The well worked head has a cut.
The varnish is brown on a yellow background
The bridge is signed Jean Schmitt.
